Our Portfolio Accounting team performs NAV calculations and Performance measurement for many institutional separate accounts and retail funds. This includes analysis/comparison with third parties and collaboration with internal Pricing and Cash and Asset Groups to ensure minimal risk in portfolio accounting calculations caused by NAV-impacting exceptions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review extensive reconciliation with custodian banks and accounting agents to prevent/resolve NAV/Performance discrepancies
  • Work with clients effectively by supporting Institutional Client Business in servicing client requirements on a regular basis or on special projects
  • Assist in conducting and implementing procedures and controls to ensure GIPS, SOX, RCSA and SOR Audit requirements.
  • Work closely with upstream teams such as Pricing, Cash Reconciliation, Trade Operations, Data Integrity Group and Portfolio Management to ensure accuracy of NAV and Performance calculations
  • Support Portfolio Management Group (PMG) and Institutional Client Business group (ICB) in resolving portfolio valuation and performance related queries
  • Conduct portfolio valuations, performance calculation and analysis for Institutional portfolios using BlackRock’s Aladdin Accounting platform
  • Coordinate and/or assist in the re-engineering of BlackRock’s operating environment and participate in various automation projects to enhance productivity and controls
  • Lead all aspects of the preparation and review of holdings/market value reconciliations using Aladdin Reconciliation Tool (ART) to reconcile positions, prices, market value and accrual
  • Participate in the training process of newly hired professionals and interns, as well as testing and implementation of the straight-thru-processing research and reconciliation tools
  • Manage BlackRock’s relationship with external parties including custodian banks, accounting agents, consultants, and auditors

Job Requirements:

  • Works well in a team environment with an entrepreneurial spirit that is willing to build on additional responsibilities quickly
  • The ideal candidate possesses 3 to 5 years of proven experience in fund accounting, performance measurement and/or operations
  • Good knowledge of Excel, VBA experience preferred. Knowledge of SQL desirable but not necessary
  • Proficient in the solid understanding of Equity and Fixed Income securities and derivative products
  • A four-year degree is required; Accounting / Finance preferred
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, with excellent analytical and written and oral communications skills.
